Author Bio

KYR Books was founded by Kyle Root in August 2026. Kyle has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Alabama at Huntsville and has worked in the field doing cool things since 1997.

• He helped run the first Rapid Prototyping and 3D Printing lab at UAH in 1999.

• Former NASA astronaut payload operations instructor.

• Military rotorcraft engineer and quality specialist. (lots of traveling!)

He has spent years breaking down complex ideas into clear, practical lessons people can understand and use.

Since 2010, he has also tutored numerous children in his area on math, helping them build confidence, problem-solving skills, and the belief that they are capable of learning hard things. Kyle believes every child can grow smarter, more focused, and more confident when learning feels fun, encouraging, and achievable.

As a published and award-winning photographer, Kyle also brings creativity and visual storytelling into his books. Through his National Parks word search series, and Izzy & Marleigh series based on his real life pets, he combines logic, imagination, puzzles, coloring, and playful learning to help everyone enjoy screen-free activities that provide brain stimulation while having fun.
